Carol co-founded and ran a management consulting business with an international clientele before becoming involved in football as a volunteer for Lewes FC Women.
She established significant women’s sponsorship revenues for the club for the first time in 2011 – approaching local businesses and encouraging them to support the rise of the town’s women’s team.
Joining the club’s Board in 2014, she successfully campaigned for the abolition of subscription payments then being paid by women players, and promoted equal treatment with the men wherever possible.
In 2016 she set up the Club’s Girls Football Academy as a joint venture with Newman College in Hove, to encourage 16-18 year old local girls to seek a good college education combined with high-quality football coaching. Four academy graduates have since been awarded football scholarships at universities in the USA, and in 2018 the academy won the Sussex Schools FA Cup.
